Denise Richards says she is “grateful” to appear in Patrick Muldoon’s first and final film

Denise Richards has shared an emotional tribute following the sudden death of actor Patrick Muldoon, recalling their decades-long friendship and their final on-screen collaboration.

Muldoon, who reportedly died last week from a heart attack, starred alongside Richards in the upcoming action crime thriller Dirty Hands, set for release on April 24. The pair also shared a close personal bond, having dated in the 1990s before remaining lifelong friends.

In an Instagram post, Richards said they had been preparing to promote the film together when the tragedy occurred.

“Pat & I were supposed to do press this week for Dirty Hands. He was so passionate about this movie & worked so hard on it… We did our first movie together & I am so blessed & grateful I did his last movie with him,” she wrote.

The post also featured a still from one of their scenes in the film, where Muldoon plays a Chicago-based drug runner and Richards portrays his partner, Sheila, caught between loyalty and conflict.

Richards, 55, and Muldoon, 57, first worked together in Starship Troopers (1997), forming a close friendship that later developed into a five-year relationship before they eventually remained close friends.

In an earlier tribute, Richards described Muldoon as her “best friend” and said she was “deeply heartbroken and devastated” by his passing.

She added that their bond had been a defining part of her adult life, describing their friendship as “unconditional and rare.”
