Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ teaser sparks debate over infidelity humor

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do has unveiled its first teaser, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana. Released by T-Series on April 20, the teaser introduces Ayushmann’s character, Prajapati Pandey, who finds himself entangled in a complex web of relationships involving Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi.

The clip begins with a voiceover hinting that while time may change everything, “patiyon ki fitrat” remains the same.

The teaser quickly shifts into a mix of comedy and chaos, with Vijay Raaz appearing as a police officer confronting Ayushmann’s character over his complicated love life. Scenes depict the protagonist managing multiple romantic interests, leading to increasingly bizarre and risky situations.

Marketed as a spiritual successor to the 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh, the film expands on the original’s themes of marital strife, this time exploring a broader “universe” of relationships, according to the filmmakers.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra, and Krishan Kumar, the romantic comedy features a talented supporting cast including Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ayesha Raza Mishra, and others.

While the teaser has generated buzz among certain audiences, it has also ignited discussions online. Some social media users have criticized the film for seemingly promoting infidelity and reinforcing traditional gender stereotypes.

Conversely, others have defended the teaser, viewing it as lighthearted entertainment that shouldn’t be overanalyzed.

The romantic comedy is scheduled for release in theaters on May 15, 2026.
