The Punjab government’s new budget includes a series of tax increases aimed at boosting provincial revenue.

Taxes on loader vehicles have been tripled under the revised structure, significantly raising costs for transport operators.

The budget also introduces limits on sales tax input claims, restricting adjustments to 12 instalments.

Officials said the changes are part of broader fiscal consolidation efforts and revenue expansion measures.

The government argues the revised taxation framework will improve compliance and strengthen financial stability.

Critics, however, are expected to raise concerns over rising costs for businesses and transport operators.
