The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the Asian Games 2026, with experienced opener Sahibzada Farhan appointed captain.

The cricket competition at the Asian Games will take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 24 to October 3. Ten teams will compete for the gold medal, with the final scheduled for October 3.

Farhan, 30, has played 46 T20 Internationals for Pakistan and scored 1,305 runs. His record includes two centuries and 10 half-centuries. Abdul Samad has been named vice-captain of the side.

The squad features several established players, including Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed and Salman Mirza. Haider Ali and Ahmed Daniyal have also returned to the national setup.

Four players — Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Maaz Sadaqat and Saad Masood — have earned their first call-up and are yet to make their T20I debut for Pakistan.

The selection also highlights the PCB’s focus on emerging talent, with 14 of the 15 squad members currently part of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) White-Ball Camp in Lahore, which begins on June 15.
