Syed Asim Munir, Rodolphe Haykal Discuss Regional Security and Defence Ties

Military leaders review security challenges, expand defence cooperation, and strengthen training partnerships between Pakistan and Lebanon.

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Lebanese Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Rodolphe Haykal at General Headquarters on Tuesday to discuss regional security and defence cooperation.

General Haykal received a guard of honour from a tri-services contingent upon his arrival at GHQ.

During the meeting, both leaders reviewed matters of mutual interest and exchanged views on the evolving regional security environment.

They also explored opportunities to enhance bilateral military relations through greater professional engagement, training cooperation and stronger institutional links.

Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its longstanding relationship with Lebanon and emphasized the importance of expanding defence collaboration between the two armed forces.

General Haykal praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He also acknowledged their role in promoting regional stability and supporting international peacekeeping missions.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the visit highlights the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening military-to-military cooperation and deepening defence ties.
