SEOUL: Nvidia has signed new deals with leading South Korean companies, including SK Hynix, Naver and Doosan, to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The agreements were announced during CEO Jensen Huang’s visit to Seoul, where he met top industry leaders to strengthen AI and chip partnerships.
SK Hynix agreed to a multi-year collaboration with Nvidia to develop advanced memory chips for AI data centres, aimed at meeting rising global demand.
SK Telecom will build a large-scale AI cloud platform using Nvidia technology, with its first data centre planned for 2027.
Naver and Doosan will also use Nvidia systems to support AI data centre development, including robotics and energy technologies.
Nvidia is also working with LG Group on future data centre design, focusing on cooling, power systems and infrastructure planning.
The deals highlight South Korea’s growing role in the global AI and semiconductor industry, led by SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics.
Despite the announcements, Korean tech stocks fell briefly on Monday amid global market volatility before partially recovering.
Huang said the AI sector’s long-term outlook remains strong, calling recent market dips a buying opportunity.
