Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he and US President Donald Trump agree any final deal with Iran must eliminate what they describe as a nuclear threat.
In a statement shared on Telegram, Netanyahu said this would require dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities and removing all enriched nuclear material from its territory.
An Israeli source said Trump has taken a firm position in ongoing negotiations, insisting that any agreement must include full dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program and removal of enriched uranium before he signs a final deal.
The source also said the United States has been keeping Israel updated on talks with Iran as discussions continue.
Trump has previously said that Washington and Iran have “largely negotiated” a framework agreement aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route.
Meanwhile, regional tensions remain high. In Lebanon, the health ministry reported that Israeli strikes in the south killed two people and injured several others, including emergency responders linked to Hezbollah-affiliated groups.
The strikes have drawn criticism from local authorities, who described them as part of ongoing attacks on health and rescue services in southern Lebanon.
Separately, Israeli politician Benny Gantz warned that agreeing to a ceasefire in Lebanon as part of a broader Iran deal would be a strategic mistake for Israel.
