The severe weather system brought strong winds, heavy rain, lightning, and dust storms, causing widespread destruction across multiple districts in the country’s most populous state.

Officials said many victims were killed after trees collapsed, buildings were damaged, and walls and electric poles fell during the storm. Dozens of people were also reported injured.

Emergency response teams have been deployed to clear debris, restore electricity, and assist displaced residents, while authorities continue to assess the full extent of the damage.

The state government has announced compensation for families of those killed and directed local administrations to accelerate relief efforts in the worst-hit regions.
