Under the new requirement, Pakistani students planning to pursue medical education overseas must first clear the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) and complete registration with the PMDC.
Officials said the measure aims to regulate standards and ensure that students studying abroad meet the eligibility criteria required for future professional recognition in Pakistan.
The decision is also intended to improve transparency and maintain uniform academic standards for medical education.
Further guidelines regarding implementation and documentation are expected to be issued by the PMDC.
