5.2-magnitude earthquake jolts Islamabad and Peshawar, sparking brief panic among residents

An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 jolted Islamabad, Peshawar, and several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, according to the Seismic Monitoring Centre.

The tremor was recorded at a depth of 125 kilometres. Officials said the epicentre was located in the border region between Tajikistan and China.

No immediate reports of casualties or damage were confirmed at the time of reporting.
