Meta Platforms said on Friday that users were experiencing difficulties accessing its social media services, including Facebook and Instagram.
The company acknowledged the issue, saying it is aware of the disruption and is working to resolve it.
Outage tracking website Downdetector reported more than 62,000 issues for Facebook and over 8,000 for Instagram, though actual numbers may vary as reports are user-submitted.
Meta spokesperson Andy Stone confirmed the disruption in a post on X but did not provide details on the cause.
The company has not yet issued a timeline for full restoration of services or explained the reason behind the outage.
