Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas welcomed progress in US-Iran talks during a phone call on Friday.

Both sides, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, praised ongoing diplomatic efforts and expressed hope for a durable agreement.

They reaffirmed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only path to lasting peace and stability.

The call followed US President Donald Trump’s claim that a deal with Iran could be signed soon.

Trump said a settlement had been reached and suggested the Strait of Hormuz could reopen after signing.

He also said Iran’s leadership had approved the deal, though this has not been confirmed by Tehran.

Iranian officials said no final decision has been made and the proposal is still under review.

Tensions in the region remain high after months of conflict and disrupted negotiations.
