EPSOM: An unexpected brawl disrupted proceedings at Epsom Racecourse on Saturday while King Charles III and Queen Camilla were attending the event.
Racecourse officials said security and police responded quickly to the incident and confirmed that the matter has been referred to Surrey Police for investigation.
They strongly condemned the disturbance, saying such behaviour has no place at the historic sporting venue.
Despite the disruption, the event continued with a large crowd in attendance for the 247th running of the Derby.
The royal couple also presented the winning trophy after the feature race, which concluded without further incident.
Officials said the rest of the event proceeded under normal security arrangements, with high-profile guests and spectators in attendance.
