Matt Damon has spoken candidly about the personal cost of his long Hollywood career, saying it has sometimes pulled him away from family life.
In a recent interview with GQ, the 55-year-old actor said he has become more selective about his work over time, focusing on projects he can do “on his terms” and execute well.
Damon said he often thinks about being more present for his children as they grow older, but admitted it is not always easy due to the demands of the film industry.
He shares four daughters — Isabella, Gia, Stella, and Alexia — with his wife Luciana Barroso.
The Good Will Hunting star acknowledged that the uncertainty and intensity of Hollywood have often made it difficult for him to stay grounded in the moment, something he now reflects on more deeply.
Despite the challenges, Damon added that fatherhood has also enriched his acting, making emotional roles easier to access and more authentic.
