ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will host two ITF W15,000 Women’s Futures tournaments in Islamabad from October 5, 2026, ahead of the Billie Jean King Cup.

The events mark a historic first for Pakistan, as the country will host two consecutive ITF Women’s Futures tournaments.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) said the tournaments will provide local players with valuable international exposure and the chance to earn ranking points without travelling abroad.

PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi said the initiative reflects the federation’s commitment to developing women’s tennis in the country.

Several leading and emerging Pakistani players, including Ushna Suhail, Mahin Aftab and Soha Ali, are expected to benefit from the tournaments.

Officials said the events will also help prepare the national team for future international competitions, including the Billie Jean King Cup.

The PTF described the tournaments as another step towards strengthening Pakistan’s presence in international tennis and supporting the growth of women’s sport.
