European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas arrived in Pakistan on Monday for the 8th EU-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue.

She will co-chair the talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad.

During her visit, Kallas is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir.

She will also hold talks with think tanks and academic representatives, focusing on strengthening cooperation between the EU and Pakistan.

A joint press conference between Kallas and Ishaq Dar is scheduled for 12:30 local time.

The EU is Pakistan’s second-largest trading partner, with both sides working to expand cooperation in trade, development, climate, and regional stability.

Officials say the dialogue reflects ongoing efforts to deepen long-term diplomatic and economic ties between the two sides.
