According to rescue officials, the blaze caused extensive damage to the ward, destroying all medical equipment present inside. Emergency teams responded promptly and shifted patients out of the affected area to prevent any loss of life.

Rescue personnel battled the fire for several hours before finally bringing it under control. Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the incident, and an investigation is underway.

The incident revived concerns about fire safety in healthcare facilities. Earlier in 2025, panic had spread at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Sargodha when the inverter of its solar power system caught fire, filling parts of the hospital with smoke and forcing attendants to move patients to safer locations.

No casualties were immediately reported in Saturday’s fire, but officials are assessing the extent of the damage.
