According to Indian media reports, the Mumbai Indians pacer endured one of the toughest seasons of his career and became the first bowler in T20 league history to concede more than 100 runs per wicket in a season.
Bumrah played 13 matches for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, conceding 294 runs at an economy rate of 8.37 while managing to take only four wickets throughout the tournament.
Reports further stated that the Indian pacer failed to take more than one wicket in any match during the entire season. His bowling average stood at 102.50, while his strike rate was recorded at 73.50.
Cricket analysts believe Bumrah’s poor form significantly affected Mumbai Indians’ campaign, while fans on social media expressed surprise over the unusual statistics of one of India’s leading fast bowlers.
