Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has called a consultative meeting to discuss the current political and economic situation in the country, reported on Friday.

According to sources, the meeting will be held following the arrival of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and will be attended by senior federal ministers, including Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik, along with members of the government’s economic team.
Discussions are expected to focus on preparations for the upcoming federal and provincial budgets, economic challenges, and proposed public relief measures.
Sources said the economic team and relevant ministers will brief Nawaz Sharif on taxation proposals being considered in the budget and the conditions and demands linked to the ongoing International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme.
The meeting comes as the government continues budget consultations and negotiations with the IMF ahead of the announcement of the Budget 2026–27.
