The Punjab government has revised traffic fines across multiple violations as part of an effort to rationalise penalties and improve enforcement efficiency. However, no relaxation has been granted for helmet violations, with the penalty for not wearing a helmet remaining unchanged.

According to officials, the revised structure reduces fines for several categories of traffic offences, aiming to ease financial pressure on motorists while maintaining road discipline through targeted enforcement.
Despite the broader relief measures, authorities have maintained a strict stance on helmet compliance, citing road safety concerns and the high number of motorcycle-related injuries and fatalities in the province.
Traffic authorities said the decision reflects a policy shift focused on balancing public convenience with essential safety regulations, particularly for vulnerable road users.
The updated fine structure will be implemented across Punjab under the existing traffic enforcement system, with continued monitoring to ensure compliance.
