Wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan struck a record-breaking fourth PSL century to lead Hyderabad Kingsmen to a thrilling four-wicket win over Multan Sultans in a high-scoring PSL 11 match at the National Bank Stadium on Wednesday.
Chasing a challenging target of 214 in this Pakistan Super League 2025 clash, Kingsmen reached 214/6 with three balls remaining, powered by Usman Khan’s explosive 101 off 47 deliveries.
Hyderabad endured a poor start, losing Maaz Sadaqat early before slipping to 48/3 following the quick dismissals of Saim Ayub and Kusal Perera.
Usman then shifted the momentum with a crucial 123-run partnership with captain Marnus Labuschagne. The skipper played a steady hand with 61 off 41 balls, while Usman dominated the attack, smashing 10 sixes and five fours.
Despite Peter Siddle removing Glenn Maxwell and Usman in the 18th over to leave Kingsmen needing 26 off 12 balls, Hassan Khan’s rapid 24 off 9 deliveries sealed a dramatic finish for the chasing side.
Siddle and Ismail took three wickets apiece for Multan Sultans.
Earlier, Multan Sultans posted 213/7 after a commanding opening stand between Steve Smith and Sahibzada Farhan. The duo added 132 runs, with Farhan scoring 66 off 43 before being dismissed by Maxwell. Smith went on to score a brilliant 106 off 50 balls—his maiden PSL century—featuring 12 fours and six sixes.
The innings slowed after regular breakthroughs, with Akif Javed returning impressive figures of 3/30, while Mohammad Ali, Maxwell, Hassan Khan, and Hunain Shah took one wicket each.
Usman Khan’s standout performance proved decisive, marking one of the most memorable run chases of PSL 11 and highlighting a major individual display in the PSL 2025 season.
